Unconventional Work Experience
Since 1981-1998, when I started teaching, I had always been unconventional. I would use a different accent every week, write on the floor and stand on tables. I never repeated a game in class. I always had something NEW daily. I would also come in costume. After EDSA 1986, I came to school as Cory in a yellow dress for five days. For me, if it was worth teaching, it was worth learning in FUN. This, as early as 35 years ago. When Robin Williams starred in “Dead Poets Society” in 1987 as Mr. Keating, my students (till now) would say that I was the Robin of Ateneo. They would fondly bow to me and say, “O Captain, my Captain”.
