Henry Rhoel Aguda is an IT and Tech Start Up practitioner for the LA-based company, AGSX. He was the chief technology officer and senior vice-president for the IT Group of the Government Service Insurance System. He was awarded the 2010 ASEAN CIO of the Year in the Government Sector by the International Data Group. Mr. Aguda was also a group chief information technology officer of Digitel Telecommunications Philippines and vice president, Asia-Pacific of Nextel Communications Phillippines. He has also held several key executive positions in Fujitsu Philippines, Bayantel, and Computer Information Systems Inc.
Mr. Aguda holds a bachelor’s degree in mathematics from University of the Philippines in 1988. He also holds a juris doctor degree from the University of the Philippines in 2008, graduating cum laude and class valedictorian He was also a participant in a strategic alliance program of the Wharton School of Business in University of Pennsylvania.
He is a senior lecturer at the technology management center of the University of the Philippines and College of Computer Studies under Software Technology Department of De la Salle University. He is a lecturer to Government CIO’s and has delivered supreme-court accredited lectures on the Cyber Crime Prevention Act of 2012 and the Privacy Act of 2012. He is currently the chairman of USAP (SAP Users of the Philippines).
